In meditating on the opening verses of Psalm 16 and using my art as a spiritual practice, this piece is the creative result. I thought of all the wandering I’ve done and all the ways I’ve felt like a sojourner and all the journeys we find ourselves on in this life. Whenever I lift my eyes to the expansive wonder of the sky, I think of the Lord’s presence surrounding me—going above and before me. Always with me. Always my refuge, in any place.
