This oil pastel mini was painted en plein air on a beach in Half Moon Bay, California. It highlights the darker, richer tones of the ocean. Strokes of deep green represent the kelp forests that grow beneath the surface—visible from the shoreline and a reminder of the unseen world below.

As someone who is a deep thinker and feeler, I’m often drawn to the ocean’s magnitude and mystery. Its vastness reflects the emotional and spiritual depths within me—complex, often hidden, but always present. "The Depths of Me" is a gentle nod to those inner places in all of us.
