For those of us choosing to bear witness to pain in whatever capacity we’ve been encountering it lately…

⁣One of the things that helps me is spending time outside. As soon as I step out of the confines of my home, it’s as though I’ve stepped outside of the confines of my mind. I need this because it can start to feel a bit tense and claustrophobic within me as information, thoughts, and feelings flood me.⁣

⁣Today my boys and I started our week with a trip to the state park just down the road from us. The spaciousness and beauty abounding around us made their way within me. My soul centered on the presence of the Lord. And as my boys and I walked and lingered around the park, we paid attention, and a prayer of sorts formed within me that I want to share with you.

May we live with our eyes and hearts wide open with courage and curiosity to walk new paths and make new discoveries.⁣

May the Lord give us the discernment to know what to hold on to tightly and what to let go of. ⁣

May we journey together as brothers and sisters, letting love fill us, pour out from us, and cover our wounds. ⁣
